Let's help make the dreams of Gateway School be achieved even faster than their goal and with extra financial help!!:) His Love and SONshine supports financially this school to achieve their dreams! I want to share with you all that the staff at the school have been solely working to fund this new school building and because of their hard work they hadn't shared about this new development with us as they solely went working on it by themselves. I want to ask if you would consider blessing this precious school by making a specific donation to help them fund their school building project to help them out.:) The average Ugandan makes a dollar a day and every teacher at the school makes $100 a MONTH! These people live with nothing yet they give of all they have. This reminds me of the widow's mite. If we were to contribute even $10 or $20 individually for the school and if we were to spread the word like wildfire I believe that their building would be funded. From termite damage and a school that is literally falling apart to a new school building that is slowly in progress! Part 1: Well here is my friend Ava's update from the school!!!!:) Ava wrote (but I added the emphasis in bold), "I met with Frank and Pastor and Mama yesterday about the school. It’s all so exciting!! They had printed some brochures for the families and had extras so I’ll be sending them to you in case you can use them. So the structure of the school will look like this for next year. Mama & Pastor - Administrators Committee - Frank, Margaret, Peace (like a school board in the U.S.) Bursar - Emmachulate (sp?) Head Teacher - still to be determined - they will also teach some classes Deputy Teacher/Head of studies - will also teach Teachers for Baby Class, Middle Class, Top Class (also 2 aides who will rotate between the 3 classes) Teachers for P1, P2, P3, P4, P5, P6, P7 Because the teachers don’t have a break during the day to grade papers, or work on lesson plans, they would like to hire a music/art teacher to help out. That person would teach all levels in the classroom and give the teachers a much needed break. They would like to hire William - the man who plays the keyboard at church and who did all the artwork at the school. He is teaching at Kids of Africa right now, but would love to come to Gateway!!! There is also a part time computer teacher - I think he gets 100,000UGX a month. I will send you the drawings of the school plan. It looks really good to me - very simple and very well thought out. The cost for the building will be around $140,000. They plan to do it in 2 phases, with the first floor being completed in 2018. They will move 6 classes into the new building and keep using the old building until they can put up the top floor. I’m going to try to fund raise for this as well as 60 Feet when I’m home. Would it be best for me to have anyone wanting to contribute to the teachers’ salaries contact you? The pictures of the bricks are the actual ones they have made for the school!!! Love, Ava" (Rachel's emphasis added)

Rachel GuyWhen Rachel Guy was in elementary school, she was fascinated by children in African countries; her heart was particularly drawn to children who had been orphaned. At the age of twelve, the country of Uganda became the focus of Rachel’s interest and concern when a close family friend, Nancy Wellham, invited her to join her on a mission’s trip there. It was on this trip that Rachel visited Gateway Nursery and Primary school and fell in love with the people there. Four years ago, Rachel was shocked when she was invited to start a ministry for the school. With humility and gratitude, she said, “Yes” to this unlikely adventure with God. Archives
