Happy Thanksgiving! As we are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, I want to say thank you for the financial support each of you have given over the past 9 years and for those who have become a child sponsor/sponsors in the past year!! Your love for the people of Gateway school is incredible!!!! Thank you so much! I wanted to highlight the impact you have made over the past 9 years exemplified through the words written by Ava Weeks a few months ago. The blog states who Ava is and her words of your impact below. She is now attending a church with her daughter, so she no longer attends Gateway. "Ava Weeks is a missionary to Uganda and is a dear friend of mine! She also is like family to the people of Gateway Nursery and Primary School… She has shared a powerful message with you all regarding your impact on the school! Ava shares, ‘Dear Friends of His Love and SonShine, Thank you so much for all you do to make life better for the children in Bwerenga, Uganda! Your support of the children at Gateway Nursery and Primary School is making a huge impact on the community as well as on the lives of the children. Without your support, many of these children would be aimlessly roaming the roads of the village looking for food and for something to occupy their time. Because of you, they are in school getting an education, eating nutritious food, and learning the Word of God. Child brides continue to be a big problem in Uganda. Girls who are not in school are often sold as child brides (girls as young as 13). When a girl is supported to get an education, her future is much more promising. You are giving these girls hope. Gateway Nursery and Primary School is blessed with gifted, dedicated teachers who are pouring into the lives of the children they teach. Thank you for supporting them through your prayers and your financial gifts. May God richly bless your faithfulness. Ava Weeks Gateway Bible Church Member Bwerenga, Uganda" The blog is written by our Child Sponsorship Coordinator who checks in on the children and teacher at Gateway and he is incredible taking pictures and videos of the children to update the sponsors. The impact, if you feel so led to become a child sponsor, child sponsorship has made! See below this blog I posted on our site a few months ago. Devine Catherine is sponsored FYI but this story below shows the impact of child sponsorship and the need for it. The blog below states, "Charles shares, ‘Friends! I am also happy to share with you another story of this child called Devine Catherine Muwanguzi and her parent too. Divine is in Middle Class at Gateway Nursery and primary school and she is 5 years old. The father of this child is called Mr. Ronald Kawunye, and he lives in Bwerenga which is a central village. Ronald's job has a low income, because he's selling charcoal to earn a living in order to take care of his family. so he told me that, his job cannot sustain the whole family as well as paying school fees for his child. This father of Devine was brought by Pastor Ernest to me, Therefore he asked me if there is any other opportunity for his child to be sponsored. He highly welcomes the opportunity to his child sponsored." I have seen the notes many of you have written for the child/children you sponsor! They are so precious and incredible! Will you help His Love and SONshine complete our end of the year goal? Our goal is to see the rest of the children on sponsorship list to be sponsored? There are 53 children who need sponsorship. Go to His Love and SonShine Sponsorship (childsponsorshipservices.org) to become a child sponsor. We have seen 36 children sponsored since last year!

Rachel GuyWhen Rachel Guy was in elementary school, she was fascinated by children in African countries; her heart was particularly drawn to children who had been orphaned. At the age of twelve, the country of Uganda became the focus of Rachel’s interest and concern when a close family friend, Nancy Wellham, invited her to join her on a mission’s trip there. It was on this trip that Rachel visited Gateway Nursery and Primary school and fell in love with the people there. Four years ago, Rachel was shocked when she was invited to start a ministry for the school. With humility and gratitude, she said, “Yes” to this unlikely adventure with God. Archives
