Dear friends, I cannot express to you the IMPACT you are making through sponsoring children at Gateway! Our Child Sponsorship Coordinator, Charles, sent me the following update!!
Charles shares, "Hello Team, I hope everyone is doing very well. I am so happy to share a story with you about this child and her parent. This child's name is Shinah Ayebare. She was once a sponsored child here before, but time came and she disappeared from school for a long time, almost 4 weeks, and then it caused the administration of the school to be concerned as they thought that this child would not come back to school again. Last month, when I audited all the kids see their presence at school with the help of the administration, Shinah was the one the students who was removed from the program. But yesterday, when I made a trip to school, her parent brought her to school seeking again for sponsorship. Her mother goes by the name of MISS SAVIOR AIMBISA who lives in Bwerenga central village, and she is a single woman and her husband abandoned the family. Her job in the community is going around and washing the clothes for people, from different homes (Laundry) but she said this job earns very low income for her, and she could not be able to pay school fees for her child. Therefore, she is asking if there is any other opportunity for her child to be sponsored again, that will be great because she told me that she needs help!"

Rachel GuyWhen Rachel Guy was in elementary school, she was fascinated by children in African countries; her heart was particularly drawn to children who had been orphaned. At the age of twelve, the country of Uganda became the focus of Rachel’s interest and concern when a close family friend, Nancy Wellham, invited her to join her on a mission’s trip there. It was on this trip that Rachel visited Gateway Nursery and Primary school and fell in love with the people there. Four years ago, Rachel was shocked when she was invited to start a ministry for the school. With humility and gratitude, she said, “Yes” to this unlikely adventure with God. Archives
